Wolf Blitzer's "Ground Level" Set... Whose Horrible Idea Was That?

I'm so distracted by all the sign-holders who struggled to get their sign in front of someone else's sign, who's also struggling to get *their* sign just one inch in front of another's as well.

The sea of movement and people who are waving and talking on their cell phones ("can you see me now") prevented me from hearing much of what was being said.

Who actually finds this format appealing? What's the purpose? Are they trying to out-do Al Roker's out-on-the-plaza spots?

Even the Today Show, GMA and all the other "Morning Latte" infotainmnent blather-fests cut away from the window to do their 28 seconds of news headlines.
