5. He was speaking about the deaths we're taking over in Iraq
and his voice started to crack when he began to say how PISSED it makes him that these young men and women are dying due to this president's incompetence. Kinda touching.

8. I don't blame him..
The way the GOP has screwed the VA and the suffering of our veterans as a result gets me choked up a lot. It is shameful what these people have done and the blatent cruelty of their hypocrisy.

11. It's real
He's doing his show in front of live audiences this week and I think it gets the emotions going. He almost choked up yesterday, too.

Some might think it's sappy, but I think we all completely understand the deep, burning fury Al's feeling. Sometimes I do get so angry I could cry too.

13. Al in Minneapolis
Al got choked up yesterday, for sure - he was doing the show in front of a live audience in his hometown of Minneapolis, a place for which he holds enormous affection. Al loves Minneapolis, and from the sound of the crowd, they love him back - he definitely got a little teary-eyed over it.

12. I believe it
He's been over there many times entertaining the troops and he sees them as individuals, not fodder. I believe that he takes it personally AS WE ALL SHOULD!!

10. God bless that sweet loyal gentleman.
He has really put his 120% into getting these assholes out.
Did you all hear the end of yesterday's show exhorting us to work our hearts out between now and Nov 2 to put John Kerry in the WH.
Used to be if you don't vote don't grumble...now, if you don't VOLUNTEER.
God Bless him. He's exhausted. Hope he gets some rest.
Franken for Senate!

17. If it's "sappy" to cry over people dying for lies, then this country
is not only evil, but deserves to go down.

War on Terror?
War on Fear!
War on Confusion!
War on Deceit!

and maybe a small skirmish on negativity.

He started crying when he was talking about the re-construction and how it's been left to Ari Fleischer's brother and other 20somethings whose only qualifications are having a resume at the Heritage Foundation...read it and weep.

23. Not at all darlin, not for a moment.
Love conquers hate, love conquers fear.
I'm with you on the feeling thing.
It's the "US should go down" part I take strong exception to, I think it's not helpful, counterproductive, selfindulgent, wastes opportunity for positive communication, gives the repubs the wrong idea about out patriotism and commitment to rebuild this country.
You are entitled to your opinion just as I am entitled to refute it and work to persuade you away from it. Off to work, see you in the real world!

25. "persuasion" isn't accomplished with derision
I'm just as "real" as you. Who knows, since I allow myself, and others, to feel what they feel, maybe I'm even *more* real.

I agree with your first sentence. Wholeheartedly.

The problem is, that's what I've never felt from you. I would welcome it.

I meant the real physical world as opposed to the electronic world. Not my world as opposed to your world, never even thought that.

27. It hurts to be real
"What is REAL?" asked the Rabbit one day, when they were lying side by side near the nursery fender, before Nana came to tidy the room. "Does it mean having things that buzz inside you and a stick-out handle?"

"Real isn't how you are made," said the Skin Horse. "It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real."

"Does it hurt?" asked the Rabbit.

"Sometimes," said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. "When you are Real you don't mind being hurt."

"Does it happen all at once, like being wound up," he asked, "or bit by bit?"

"It doesn't happen all at once," said the Skin Horse. "You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in your joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand."

who died of a heart attack after viewing her son's body (he'd been killed in Iraq). I'm still crying about that everytime I think about it. :-(

She truly died of a broken heart. You can only take so much and for me a son or daughter of mine dying for no reason would kill me as well I think.
