No details, please.. We're Americans..

The Founding Fathers must have their graves set on "High Spin".

The thing that bothers me the most about this election (and others, truth be told), is how uninterested the majority of people appear.

The problems that we have, as a nation are "HARD" (to quote our "leader"). We would never dream of taking our computer-laden $50K vehicles to "Joe's Garage"..you know..the one in the alley behind K-Mart, yet we so readily gobble up simplistic sound bytes that are meant to address the real problems we have.

we are so eager to accept "easy" instead of "correct". We are morphing into the United Simpletons of America.

We like our TV shows easy.. "G'won..make him eat some worms"..."Hey, lets trade wives"..."Is there an "R", Pat?"..."Wow, that 'science-lady" on CSI is HOTTTTTTT"...

We would rather have our tax forms EASY, than FAIR.. It's no surprise that the "flat-tax" Republicans have seized on this "fabulous" idea..Fat cats at the top of the heap will GLADLY glomb onto THAT idea.. Do the warning lights not go on when MOSTLY rich guys are proponents of this grand scheme??

Instead of asking the HARD questions about Social Security.."Where is our money?".."Why did you "use" it?".."When are you putting it back?"...we are too ready to start down the path of "privatization" (code speak for YOU ARE SCREWED)

We need a rational approach to health care, yet all we get are red-faced screaming heads shouting epithets.."HMOs are EVILLLL".."Trial Lawyers are to blame"..."Immigrants are stealing all our healthcare"..

Our kids are not keeping pace with the rest of the civilized world's kids, educationally. Are we worried?? Some of us are, but most are stuck in the rhetoric of the past, when we truly had the smartest kids . It's not really the kids' fault. They have been "experiments" for YEARS...DECADES... The experiments have FAILED us and THEM..

Colin Quinn's response after the debates, actually were the most DEAD-ON.. He's a comedian that I personally, find un-funny, but his comment hit the nail on the head.. He was asked about the commentary on the voting records of Kerry and Edwards.. His comment:" The real question is WHY HAVE THESE SENATORS VOTED ON ANY ISSUE 600 TIMES?.. Why indeed? Generations of senators and congresspeople have been "debating" the same issues FOREVER.. They nibble at the edges of legislation, yet never actually SOLVE anything.

Easy equates with CHEAP, and our nation is becoming as threadbare as the old sofa in the family room. It's still comfy, but we surely would not want guests to see it..

Our leaders are not willing to risk telling us the truth, because they fear that we no longer have the attention spans necessary to wrap our brains around serious issues.. They feed us cute sounding phrases, snarky attack lingo, and fully-spun nuggets of "infotainews".

They also know that as soon as some of us start to ask for more information, their actions will come under more scrutiny, so that's when we all are forced to "choose sides".. Pro-Choice or Don't-Kill-That-Baby-Even-Though-I-Refuse-to-Pay-a-Penny-to-Help-It-Once-It's-Born...Pro-Gays vs Hate-All-Gays...Pro-God vs Going-Straight-to-Hell...Pro Guns vs Please-Don't Shoot-Me..

Once we are "safely" divided every which way to Sunday, they have successfully steered us back to what we do best these days,. Watch TV, eat, and hate people who are not like us.. You know.. the EASY stuff..
