1. Powell's UN testimony had schematic diagrams, not photos....
...it was like a Power Point presentation. No high altitude photos to my recollection. Powell lied also.

4. I may not know how to tell the difference, but I saw what looked like
airial photos. I thought Powell even said they were from satellites. I even asked a Ret. AF guy I met at a Dean party, and he said they came from old shots from 1991.

13. Yes, there were photos - I remember one of the statements "proving"
the WMDs production.

Essentially, "You see this truck there? It's no longer there. That proves they're making WMDs!"

2. The repugs are turning themselves inside out trying
to make that damning report look 'not all that bad.' Earlier they had Sen. Ensign (R) NEV on with Wolfie and he was hysterically funny. I don't envy them their task...talk about putting lipstick on a pig.

It's sad to see someone like Warner, who is really good when he can use his stern facade for something he really believes, trying valiantly to toe the party line and just looking like a shill. When will they just start to crack and admit the truth?

7. I'm waiting for the day when the halfway decent rethugs
will have their "dump Nixon moment" and realize that they need to salvage their own reputations and not go down with the ship.

Maybe I'm overly optimistic, but some have been flirting with the idea and won't be shockd if the ranks start to break. They must be making themselves sick with the constant spinning.

5. Powell lied, plain and simple and up front--he lied
and there is not excuse for the SOS to not have had the information in order to determine the truth.

Either he is stupid and believed the lies without any further investigation or intuition, or he did not believe the lies but went ahead anyhow. I do not at this time believe Powell has any more of an IQ than Bush.

In any scenario, Powell is less than credible and less than a man. He will go out as a little weeny looking out for himself and his money like the rest of them in the Bush regime.

There is nothing about Powell that is commendable and I doubt even before that, there was anything about Powell that was commendable.

He is taking the ticket to ride.

8. Both Powell and McCain have abandoned their honor.

If they had even a smidgen left, they must be feeling pretty shitty inside. Neither man is stupid, they know they have not lived up to the oath they took. Shame.

9. Powell has been a bootlicker since Nam.
The Powell PR Machine has been in churning for years.

No doubt that he will get a lucrative private sector position. Loyalty to the Right Wing will be rewarded.

14. I saw Powell radically change when he did that UN presentation.
I can't say that I ever loved him, but I believed he said what he believed. I saw the expression on his face that day in the UN. I heard what he said, but when I saw him that day, I said (to my tv) somebody got to him! He sold out his ethics.

He hasn't been the same simce.

10. Powell
If Powell had any integrity he would have resigned about 6 months before the Iraq War started.

A complete sell out without principles that stands for nothing....

11. Warner back to the old tried and true "SH was a bad man" shitck...
After Dobbs threw it in his face about the fact that there are no WMD and never were. Warner started in on the tired old shit about SH being evil so we were still just in going to War.

If I was Dobbs I would have told the old fart that Chimp not only said SH had WMD but he was an IMMEDIATE threat of using them. Meaning we need to invade NOW not later. All BS,every damn bit of it...
