Business school professors to Bush: You policies stink
Open Letter to President George W. Bush

October 4, 2004

Dear Mr. President:

As professors of economics and business, we are concerned that U.S. economic policy has taken a dangerous turn under your stewardship. Nearly every major economic indicator has deteriorated since you took office in January 2001. Real GDP growth during your term is the lowest of any presidential term in recent memory. Total non-farm employment has contracted and the unemployment rate has increased. Bankruptcies are up sharply, as is our dependence on foreign capital to finance an exploding current account deficit. All three major stock indexes are lower now than at the time of your inauguration. The percentage of Americans in poverty has increased, real median income has declined, and income inequality has grown.

1. It's just half the Harvard faculty ...

I mean, c'mon, Harvard? Can't take Harvard Business School seriously can you?

</sarcasm>

I'm sending this to a Republican friend who likes to tout his MBA as being the reason he's a Republican ...

6. Hmmm, my MBA is one of the reasons I'm a Democrat.
It helped me understand which economic policies are good for the economy as a whole, benefitting all of the citizens, and which economic policies are just a transfer of tax money from the lower income people to the wealthy.

2. All the top business schools are here, the most distinguised HBS profs...
This is a stinging rebuke of Bush, an HBS graduate. I'm not sure Kerry couldn't use it in the debate --

4. Whoa
Impressive list!

I can't imagine anything that can go against this from the bush side, being the scams that they are.

5. But the "expert" economists quoted in the news say our economy is growing!
How can this be? How can so many PhD's be telling us that it isn't growing?

GE made out like a bandit with the most recent tax bill. GE owns MSNBC. These big corporations, particularly the ones whoh have big media outlets, need to be broken up.

7. Is the next debate about domestic and economic policies?
Good timing, if so.

9. Bush* gets an F from Professors
Same school he got his degree from and yet he didn't learn very much at all. If he were to do it again I dare say he would not even pass let along get a degree.
