The scariest vehicle in recorded history. Bar none.
Some freeper in town got a custom paint job on his pickup. I wish I'd have had a camera at work so I could take a picture of this monstrosity.

The whole side of the vehicle (both sides the same) was a US flag fading into a Confederate flag. The tailgate was the Stars and Bars, while the hood was the Stars and Stripes. At the back of the vehicle on both sides were the Army, Navy and Air Force emblems six inches high and the Marine emblem twelve inches high. The windshield had "Semper Fi" stenciled across the top; the back window had "Proud Marine Veteran" etched into it. The B pillars took some work to accomplish: there is a paint that changes color depending on the angle you're looking at it from. He started with a paint that goes from blue to gold. He first painted the B pillar with a solid paint the color of the gold end on the driver's side and the color of the blue end on the passenger side. Then he used the color-shift paint to paint the Twin Towers on each side of the truck. The effect is real subtle but awesome nonetheless: when the truck is coming toward you, you can see the towers. When it is going away from you, they fade into the background. Whoever did this had his shit together.

Painted on the floor of the bed was a huge globe and anchor. Needless to say, this guy had a trailer. Which was covered with globe-and-anchor logos all the way down both sides.

The hood was the piece de resistance: on top of the Stars and Stripes was a rendition of Mount Rushmore...but instead of Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Roosevelt were Reagan, George the Elder, the village idiot and Cheney.

Whoever did it was a very good artist, but the subject matter!

Oh well. Everyone needs a hobby.

4. I don't think I'll see it very often
No one in Fayetteville can drive worth a shit. This one's gonna come out of the garage once a month, maybe. The risk of destroying that paint job is too great.

2. Don't put the guy down.
Show compassion. It isn't his fault. It's just illness.

But what an illness it is. Jesus fuckin' Christ.

pull her in front of the Pickup...put your foot on the break while placing a brick on the accelerator peddle...shift her into reverse and run.

9. Just for the record
Guys like that do these patriotic displays because they're NOT in Iraq.

I'm wondering if he had room for the Constitution anywhere on that truck of his.

8. He obviously loves his country very much
But is also probably rather simple minded and easily frightened. These folks tend to want to kill and maim whenever they feel threatened intellectually, so you might want to go easy if you talk to him.
