I admit, I lurk. . .
On the www.gamefaqs.com boards. It's a guilty pleasure of mine, just to read the asinine arguments. I came across some political threads in PC > Top 10 Message Boards - FFXI > Social. This poor schmuck Cevayr is a blatant shrub apologist.

I'm not one to take all their talking points and it seems neither are others. I've found quite the encouraging group there that really despise the actions of this administration.

It's encouraging for me to see such free thinking individuals on a board that primarily is visited by young teenagers - young adults. Whenever I see young people getting in politics, even if only by showing interest, I feel really hopeful for the future.

1. Me Too

I actually participate in one board for a game I like and have been playing for years. I'm the "old guy" in the group. :-)

There's this kid on there with a anti-Kerry sig line. I try to keep my comments on the board actually related to the topic -- I don't hang out in the social rooms -- so I leave it alone. But, this other kid, who is 16 judging from things he's said about school, came along the other day and just started thrashing him. "Did you even SEE the debate? Are you THAT big of an idiot?" Then it turned into a free-for-all for a day or two with almost everyone piling on the anti-Kerry kid before someone called in the moderators and all the messages got deleted.

It was, however, satisfying, as you say, to see a group of teenagers both take an interest and actually see the truth for a change.

2. I've been on those boards for a long time

but I don't post much anymore because I don't have time for gaming anymore.

My account there is tr0ubleman.

I've only gotten into a few political debates there, but I easily dismantled their arguments nearly every time. Most of the wanna-be freepers on that board only know talking points, and not much in depth knowledge of the subjects.

It never got really nasty there, though. Those mods have the quickest trigger on any board I know. That's okay, though, because a lot of kids post there also.
