My dad is voting for Kerry, but he is still one of those hyper-skeptical, they're all "beholden to the same corporations regardless" type people?
So I was like, gee that Heinz sure is a shadow front for a pagan society bent on world domination!!!!!! Yep dad, they're secretly poisoning our ketchup to slowly, but surely turn us into automatons to bring on a new age of trial-lawyer philosopher kings.
Seriously though, what possible conflicts of interest could Kerry have? I mean, sure Bill Gates and Bud Selig and them send him $2000 checks, but it's not like even they realistically expect preferential treatment.

toward the democratic party. If you look at the amounts of money spent on both the democratic and republican conventions, it could pretty much sustain a small third world country. Those companies don't "give" out that much money and not expect anything in return.
I can understand why your dad thinks that way. You have to convince him that even though money is being spent on the democratic party, that a new administration will make decisions based on the best interests of the people and not on the interests of the companies who have provided funds to the party. The current administration makes decisions based on what's best for them and for large corporations (including the relaxation of environmental laws to the detriment of the human population). Therein lies one of the many differences between the parties. I don't think he really was talking about Heinz.
