I flicked off Dick for all of us today

So, for whatever reason, Dick Cheney decided to visit Gainesville, FL today, which happens to be where I reside. Well I was protesting when the Cheney motorcade came through. His car was maybe 3 feet from me as it passed by, and as it did I saw him look at me through the tinted window and so I gave him the finger.

Normally I might be a little apprehensive about being so blatantly disrespectful to a public figure, Republican or not, but after Mr. Cheney's eloquent comments to Senator Leahy, I figured the middle finger was only appropriate.

So, if you've ever wanted to flick him off yourself, just think that I did it for you!



This isn't near how many people were there to "greet" him.

15. So Cheney verbalizes and you "sign"

I got past Alabama State Troopers to press a sign on George Wallace's limo window and saw his wide eyes read it! The governor was running against LBJ in the Indiana primary and I was there when a cordon of giant troopers helped him in on one side and I moved up to the other side. I did get muscled off the street then by the troopers, but the jostling was worth it. That was before everyone got their own Secret Service details, and a few years later somebody got too close to Wallace and shot him.

Probably the same with you, but I did NOT plan to do what I did, but the "spirit" kind of moved me into the street. I really hated Wallace's racism and emotion took over.

BTW, my homemade sign that Wallace read: "States Rights Don't Sanction Civil Wrongs"
