All hatred is an expression of fear. George Bush is obviously a deeply frightened man and has been his whole life. That what he gives off, he exudes fear to me. Thats why he finds it necessary to dress up in air force uniforms and parade around on aircraft carriers because he's a frightened little kid. He's an infant. That politically is the problem, you have this frightened infant in the most powerful position in the western world.

If Bush wins this election, I will be aghast.....I will be struck dumb that the American people could re elect this disaster....this total disaster in every way

The possibility exist that the US can free itself of this total quagmire of the way this particular form of democracy works to embrace the principals of the Constitution which are totally laudable...claw its way kicking and screaming past the religious dogma and the institutionalized way money works and politics.....to find away of embracing its own people to a point where they can adopt the higher moral ground and provide a genuine example of a way people can live together for the rest of the world. clearly this isn't happening at the moment and in fact there are an enormous number of retrograde steps being taken and that is something of a regret to me. Still 200 years after the revolution, I still feel there is the potential here for a great leap to be made for man kind.

2. How to break the grip?
"The corporate grip on opinion in the United States is one of the wonders of the Western world. No First World country has ever managed to eliminate so entirely from its media all objectivity - much less dissent.": Gore Vidal

4. That is the "hard work" ahead of us.....
(sorry, couldn't resist)

The Internet is providing one way of getting the informations out that the networks won't report. Fuck TV.

There was a time when the news depts. of NBC CBS and ABC operated independently of the rest of the network. Why? For EXACTLY the reason we are witnessing now. The news takes a back seat to ratings and advertising bucks. Back then, the news divisions were operated as a public interest. It's how we got real JOURNALIST like Edward Murrow, David Brinkley, Chet Huntley, Walter Cronkite, and yes, even Dan Rather.

Now, they put up the cast of "Friends" and call it a new story.

3. Not surprising hearing such an intelligent assessment from
the man who wrote all the songs and lyrics to such classic thought provoking albums such as The Darkside of The Moon,Wish you Were Here,Animals, the Final Cut and last but surely not least his greatest masterpiece, moment of silence please,THE WALL.:hippie:

7. If you want to check out an album that is perfect for our times
check out Waters" Amused to Death. I discovered this album last year and I could have sworn that Waters was a psychic (although he was writing about the first Gulf War and Reagan's adventures in the Middle East). One of the major recurring characters in the songs is even a monkey.

Just be warned, Amused to Death makes The Wall seem like Jimmy Buffet. We are talking about some dark but awesome stuff.

6. Sheesh, what an ugly photo of Darth Cheney.
Yes, I would have to agree with that assessment. George is nothing but a skeered little kid. He needs to get out of the White House as soon as possible. November 3 sounds nice to me.

Your doggie is SO cute! :smoke:

8. Americans aren't dumb. Some have been misled
By the insidious propaganda. But I have confidence in my fellow countrymen- and women. The fact that the race is tied (according to biased polls) really says something about the ability of people to see through bullshit. The support for * , apart from the fundie locksteppers, is pretty thin. All we have to do is give them a reason to bail on him and they will. In droves.
