Hi, I'm your CEO!
I took command of this company a few years ago and here is my progress report:

Pro-Life - I see abortion as murder, but so far it is still an acceptable practice and you can continue doing it. Over and above the murder rate we lost 3000 employees during an attack and over 1000 more when we engaged in a hostile takeover. Those in the company we took over lost many more than that, but who is counting?

Pro-Jobs - I have helped many folks in poor countries by giving them your jobs, losing your job (and house, food, and so on) right now is good for you in the long run (but me losing my job soon is not a good idea). So suck it up and things will get better for you - they are already good for me!

Pro-lower-taxes - I have lowered the taxes on those who have too much so that they can spend more of it and maybe you will get some on down the line. Some people in this company are simply worth more, and even though you are not in that group I have tried to help you by giving more money to the executives in hopes that they will give it away to you.

Pro-welfare - I have given lots of welfare to companies that have screwed up so that they can continue to maintain themselves. They will do something good with the cash, like outsource overseas (which I mentioned is good for you). I felt it better to help them than you since they have more value and are not as lazy as you are.

Pro-Freedom - I have done what I can to curtail all those freedoms you have so that you can rest better at night knowing that something that may happen somewhere by someone possibly maybe is a tad less likely to occur. Those damn freedoms left too many holes in security - I done fix that good.

Now on Nov 2 you make sure to keep me office ok? I need to keep working on things to make my...errr...your life better. I know I have grade A health care and retirement, but I deserve that at your expense. You must understand I am more important and valuable to the overall good and so I need it. Someday, if things work out in a few hundred years, I will make sure you have the same thing.

I look forward to serving you 4 more years.

Yours Truly,
George W. Bush.

FIRE W IN 2004!

4. Sometimes I wonder
What would happen if we gave those in congress the benefits/working conditions/pay of the least among us (and I am certainly not in the least category myself). Wonder how much things would change?

Myself, I would be willing to serve our country for free as a member of congress providing I could work around my current job of course :)

If being competitive means that we screw people so that they can have the least amount of things than I think something is seriously wrong. "Country X's people have no benefits and low pay so we have to compete" is lame. We lower ourselves to meet their substandards? I wonder how nasa would react if we said we should lower their safety standards and funding because the people in country X don't have the same regulations and funding? What would any company say?

We have ISO standards, regulations for everything from labeling to highways, but when it comes to people's lives we drop the idea of standards - unless it is for those elected to higher offices (well, we need more money to attract better people, but you don't!).

I dunno, off on a rant, maybe I am not making any sense...

5. Thanks, been a rough day
Worked all day, half from home. Then conference calls and editing tech documents until 11pm est. My mom is sick, wife shocked herself, and overall has been one of those days (not without several bright spots though, take the good with the bad).

I work for a big company and was thinking about how the ceo would look if he was bush and reported the things we have seen over the last few years. He would be canned and the stock would be down.

We need a new ceo to head up things in this country. And those stock holders who don't see that don't care about the value of the stock or the direction the company is heading.

If bush were my boss, I would vote to fire him. And the sad thing is, he is our 'boss' right now and some people don't see the problem(s)...sigh.

7. Not too bad
I did do well with work, I handle the politics side well so today was good. I just did not have enough time to play today with my daughter as I would like.

My dad found an old vacuum tube tester he had built and he gave it to me (he lives next door and is finding old parts for me because I am building a big computer in a rack using old dials, switches and so on) and the other night my daughter came in while I was working and wanted to play (she is 3). I gave her the tester and told her it was a doctor kit (we play doctor on her dolls daily, she is the mommy I am the doctor usually). She played in here with me for hours with that thing. I made whirring and clicking noises while she flipped swithces and turned dials. Fixed up all her dolls many times.

She calls me at work and asks me to come home and play. When the wife got shocked on her computer (weird story about a power surge) I took a half day and came home. Played with her some but near as much as I would like. Mom called and is sick, and after her triple by-pass it always worries me.

Work, family, bills, etc sometimes gets me to worrying too much. Today I just wanted to play dolls and see my girl smile, which I did - but not enough.

Too long of a story to go into here, a lot of side items play into it all. I had a good day.bad day - just nice to come on here and talk once in a while when all is quiet and I am alone.
