blue states and red states, education levels |
|
Out of curiousity, I compared numbers from the census.gov site about the percentage who graduated college to which states when Gore or bush in 2000. This is what I found.
DC 39.1 MA 33.2 CO 32.7 CT 31.4 MD 31.4 NJ 29.8 VA 29.5 NH 28.72 WA 27.7 MN 27.4 NY 27.4 CA 26.6 HI 26.2 IL 26.1 UT 26.1 KS 25.8 RI 25.6 OR 25.1 DE 25.0 MT 24.4 GA 23.3 NE 23.7 AZ 23.5 NM 23.5 TX 23.2 ME 22.9 NC 22.5 PA 22.4 WI 22.4 FL 22.3 ND 22.0 WY 21.9 MI 21.8 MO 21.6 SD 21.5 IA 21.2 OH 21.1 SC 20.4 OK 20.3 TN 19.6 IN 19.4 AL 19.0 LA 18.7 NV 18.2 KY 17.1 MS 16.9 AR 16.7 WV 14.8
Out of the top 14, 11 went Democrat. The bottom 12 all went republican. The average of the blue states was 26.9. The red, 22.1 This does of course not PROVE anything, just some an indication which suggests those with higher education levels. Make of it what you wish.

2. Rove knows this. He said, "As people do better, they start... |
|
...voting like Republicans - unless they have too much education and vote Democratic, which proves there can be too much of a good thing."

4. I've always thought this..................... |
|
now we have documentation. Thanks. I've always thought that those who believe the Republican ideology would be less inclined to be educated. These are the same "worker bees" that need to be told what to do in their lives because they're intellectually inert. These same people are more likely to believe in the invisible cloud being, needing a stern father figure to keep them in line and not to "eat from the tree of knowledge". They can live their entire lives in poverty, ignorance and squalor knowing that they will "get their reward in heaven". It' so sad when people view education as a BAD thing. It breeds bigotry and hate for anything that is not known to them. Sad. sad, sad.

6. In CO It Must Be The Tax Cuts |
|
that lure smart people to GOP. I know many a liberal types in in CO who make lots of money and vote GOP for the tax cuts only.

7. Education is a great thing... |

But remember that Chimpy got 2 degrees. And I knew a few non-degreed Texans who've never voted Republican.
