Who watched 60 Minutes last night?

One of the people interviewed (the women whose grandmother was killed and whose brother was blinded) indicated she believed the US was behind some of the unrest in order to justify staying in Iraq..knowing Negroponte is involved and knowing there may well BE a benefit to pitting Iraqi against Iraqi in order to ensure a neo-con puppet rules the country, what do y'all think of her suspicions?

3. I've never thought anything less. Negroponte is bad news, front to

back. What is happening in Iraq has his MO all over it. So sad for the Iraqi's and just why did Congress say okay? Or was this one of those recess appointments? I don't remember right now, I just know when they made him the new ambassador I knew we were in for nothing but trouble. It was bad enough when they made him our rep at the UN.

Sick bunch of criminals that we are letting run this country.

Kind of a stretch to me; I think they would want to see Iraq settle down so that they could press forward into Iran and Syria. Since Iraq is such a disaster, they can't do that. I guess I just don't see their motivation (other than "Hey, as an evil person, lets' do some evil stuff.")

It was in Sept. Harpers and online.

Naomi Klein outlined some of the ways the neocons wanted instability with the goal, as she said, for corporations to roll over the place. Though now - it's such a mess - nobody can do anything.

was along the same lines.

It's good if it's getting a broader audience.

I noticed Oprah yesterday ( after watching the Kerrys on Dr Phil :) ), had a show with living conditions for women in different countries around the world. And she had one in Iraq. It showed it being pretty bad - she had her own machine gun, etc. It seemed like a good thing for the afternoon talk show TV watchers to see.
