7. Thanks :)
Btw, up to now I've been more worried about this underground magma chamber in the Yellow Stone Park... Any news on that one? I heard that if it goes up, we might be in for another Ice Age.

But when I connect LotR with Bush, I always think of that wonderful scene with Saruman standing at his Palantir and talking to Sauron... "The World is changing. Who now has the strength to stand against the armies of the Born-Again, and Al-Quaeda... to stand against the might of Dubya *and* Bin Laden, and the Union of the Two Powers? ... A new world order will rise. We will drive the machine of war with the oil and the nuke and the iron fist of the fundie." lol.

It's nice to find I'm not the only fantasy fan who is into politics - the two areas frequently seem so far apart.

10. Lol!
Mt. St. Helens is different, obviously it is not a Hawaiian volcano so no goddess Pele to appease! Plus it is not like the other volcanoes in the Cascade Range, it is located west of the main chain and is much younger and more active than the other peaks...
If the eruption of Sunday, May 18, 1980 had occured on a weekday many more than 57 people would have died...It devasted a vast area, lots of loggers would have been working there...
Granted the mountain is a shadow of its former self, but to consider the possibility of a major eruption non-dangerous and let people come as close as they have been allowed is uncool but you know the state of incompetence our government agencies have nowadays...
To me they're letting people in too close to the crater...They do not know this volcano and are playing with fire....
