Absurd conversation with Repub NC Dad... |
|
Him: Did you see how stupid Bush looked in that debate?
Me: Yes.
Him: I used to believe the flip-flop charges against Kerry until the debate. Now, I see he is a leader who can change his mind when the facts present themselves to do so.
Me: Uh-huh.
Him: John Edwards buried Cheney on the issue of Medicare reform, and all of my senior friends agree (he's 72).
Me: Yep.
Him: China and Japan own this country and Bush doesn't seem aware of that fact.
Me: Right again, Dad.
?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I'm either hallucinating or losing my mind, but me and Dad agreed on every thing politics tonight and that has never, ever happened!
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
This is a post of hope to those of you who have disagreeable family members. They can't hide DUMYA in a debate!!!

3. It won't happen with my dad-he's a staunch Republican... |
|
who doesn't vote and isn't registered!!! heheheh! But we can't talk politics AT ALL. He would have a coronary if he knew how I use this computer (he bought for me) for Democratic purposes!!! I can't dare say anything or he'd probably want it back!

That sounds awful, but I understand where you're coming from. If it's safer to not talk politics or be "neutral" then do that.
But maybe one day you can feel "free and all that" in America where you can use your computer as you wish!
Be safe.

5. Nope. He said he is voting for Kerry. |
|
He said Edwards made the difference for him. He would have sat it out if Kerry had someone like Dean (he knows damn well the Doctor was my 1st choice) on the ticket. But since Kerry was open minded enough to pick Edwards (he says) that did it...he and Mom are voting Dem! I asked her for her own opinion, of course. And she is very very non-political. She said something to the effect of "Kerry seemed to know the answers to the questions, like the smart guy in class."
Hee hee he.
