A teacher's nightmare
So bush didn't want to scare the students, and he failed to act on 9/11. I woke up this morning with last night's news fresh on my mind.

It's time to resume the "code red" practices in our schools. I'd better get the survival box ready for my students again. Let's see, 30 gallons of water, juice boxes, snacks, games, t.p., bucket...., radio, flashlights....Time to get that cart on wheels, no too big, maybe each 4 year-old could carry a 5 pound bag as we race calmly for the desgnated building along with 600 other students and their teachers.

School Districts In 6 States Warned By FBI
Computer Disc Found In Iraq Contained Information About U.S. Schools

POSTED: 12:31 am EDT October 8, 2004
WASHINGTON -- Sources say eight school districts in six states were warned last month by federal law enforcement agents that a computer disc found in Iraq contained photos, floor plans and other information about their schools.

One official says the data, publicly available on the Internet, included Education Department crisis guidelines for schools.

The eight districts are in Georgia, Florida, Michigan, New Jersey, Oregon and California. The officials say FBI agents in those areas alerted local education and police officials.

The government says that the warnings do not mean an attack is being planned.

Still, school officials are being warned to watch for those spying on their buildings or buses.

Fear, fear, and more fear. It's becoming the American way.

4. Shameful electioneering...
...and a pander to so-called "security moms." If there is a genuine threat, then the OHS should quietly take appropriate measures. But since this was released to the national media, there's no doubt in my mind this is an attempt boost * as the big daddy who will protect us. Shameful!
