Ahhh...the good old days. Does anyone else get almost...emotional when they remember how good things used to be, and how far we've fallen in 4 years?

1. Sure, who can forget the Last Days of the Old American Republic?
It seems like a lifetime ago when America was free.

Perhaps it will be again, someday...

3. God, I thought we'd kissed deficits good bye!
What a weight was off my shoulders. How I was filled with optimism. How sure I was that the failed policy of Reaganomics was finally, solidly, dead dead dead.

It lives, and it's more monstrous that ever before.

4. One year ago, I was in Beijing with a traveling companion.
Our guide was a local college student. One rainy day, over tea and beer, he asked me, "Do you LIKE war?" I said, "Of course not! Why would you think such a thing?" He said, "Because you all seem happy about it on TV. Everyone has flags on their houses for the war."

He then said, "We Chinese LOOOVED Bill Clinton!" I asked why. He said, "For what he did for your ECONOMY!!! We think he was a great leader for the U.S. We admire what he did for your economy."

Hmmm. Me too.
