Or, did anyone catch it last time? Is it worth monitoring during the debate? I really enjoy the running commentary here, because I am such a chickenshit about watching the beginning of the debates...if DUers are posting positive reports, I run watch it. Thought I might give Olbermann a viewing tonight.

1. I kept checking it on Tuesday.
I found it funny and right on the mark.

3. Check it but
be forewarned that it is a very even-handed look at the debate.
It's probably too even handed for some extreme Kerry partisans.

5. Ya know,
a statement like that troubles me a bit.

Contemporary "journalism" (I hate to even call it that) is suffering under the premise that "fairness" and "objectivity" can be achieved by simply presenting both sides in a debate -- without bothering to sort out the truth or the real facts, etc. thus leaving it up to the public to sort out fact from fiction.

I worry that you somehow believe that equal bashing for both sides equals "even-handedness" in journalism (or infotainment, actually, we should refer to most broadcast and cable news these days). In most cases including Keith Olbermann's, that ain't necessarily so. I want -- Americans NEED -- the TRUTH, not some faux "even-handedness" or equal opportunity bashing masquerading as objectivity or anything faintly resembling real journalism.

And after all the lies Bush&Co. have gotten away with for over 4 years now, the "journalists" in this country have a LOT of making up to do.
