Question for DU regarding online polls after debate |
|
If I use one page posted on DU to vote legally (one time) on all the online polls do the cookies that are installed in each poll identify me as someone from DU? should I put together my own links on a separate page?
Just wondering because last week CNN shopped polls until they got the results that they wanted.

Good web statistics software can tell a webmaster which outside site and page sent him or her to a particular poll. So, yes, if the web people are on the ball, they'll be able to tell where you came from, but it isn't cookies that provide the information.
On the other hand, a CNN cookie (for example) that does that is spyware, in my opinion.
Anyway, in my opinion, it's best to hit the polls from a site other than DU. I know I try to do so.

2. thanks for the information |

I have ad-aware on pc but I want my vote to count online even if they aren't scientific. I don't want MSM to think that my vote is simply a conspiracy to spin for my candidate. Even though I will vote for Kerry.

5. I think - but I'm not sure |

I think hat manually typing the URL (or copying and pasting) when one is currently in a DU window would show up on the web site stats of the poll.
I copy and paste into a new blank tab or browser window.
