'I've flown over those forests...' But I've NEVER so much as...
taken a stroll through the woods.
never.
clearing the brush from your ranch while the cameras are running is not the same as hiking into a forest, gathering wood, building fire and then sleeping under the stars with the only sound is the wind in the trees and the occasional critter that passes by.

he will NEVER EVER understand the value of nature or natural areas. He has no GODDAMN IDEA.

He hates nature. His record on the environment alone is reason to jettison him from public life.

GODDAMN that was revealing. "I've flown over the forests." you simpering asshole.

1. It;s not only the trees that are missing with "clearing the brush".
But there is the loss of wildlife habitat, the silting up of water ways choking the fish and further eroding the land. This is what clearing the brush is doing because the brush the timber companies are clearing is what is left of the old growth forests that are far away from any population centers that need protecting.

2. he didn't start talking about the outdoors until he bought that "ranch"
I don't ever recall hearing about Bush going camping or hiking in a park, a national forest, or any wilderness area. Maybe his only experience of "nature" is private property. Basically, he couldn't identify with it until he could OWN it. There's a big difference between that kind of attitude, and acknowledging that the land owns YOU -- and that you have a responsibility to it, and everybody else who shares it.

Contrast Bush with Al and Tipper Gore, who (as newlyweds on a budget) went camping on public lands for their vacations together.
