NY Post? Article about ABC memo? What gives?
I am not familiar with the NY Post. Is it Repub? Is it legitimate? It has a story that an ABC memo has been uncovered from a higher up in the company stating that while both candidates misrepresent, Kerry's are not central to his campaign, while Bush's are more important, and therefore, it's okay to report the election news in that way.

I have not seen this story anywhere else. Legitimate? A plant? It has been repeated on Drudge, of course, which leads me to think it's not legitimate. But I'm not familiar with the NY Post, and their online paper doesn't give the circulation number.

Please tell me this is a false story or that the NY Post is not a legitimate paper!

1. NYPost is published by NewsCorp
Murdoch's NewsCorps, that is. You do the math.

3. NYPost:
It is owned by Rupert Murdoch and run by a bunch of right-wing crazies from Australia. Quite frankly, I would be skeptical of anything from them that does not have independent and more credible confirmation.

5. I don't think this is a false story
Halperin evidently wrote a memo in which he asked reporters to consider that the bush campaign's distortion of Kerry was qualitatively different from the Kerry campaign's depiction of bush. Or something like that. Halperin pens the ABC Note, a sort of irreverent look at politics. I'm not sure if it's published on the weekend.

6. The Bush admin is blackmailing the media..
There is no other explanation for hos right wing all of these stations have become.. IS there a memo? Who knows, and is it any worse then the daily talking points that come from Faux?? All I know is the media can either get mad and keep taking it or get even.. This Bush admin has fucked up so much, including Wolfowitz basically calling them cowards in Iraq.. It would be nice if the media showed them what real bias is.. How about a 8 years to discover a blue dress and a semen stain?

7. If You're Riding the Subway in New York City
you see a lot of people reading newspapers. Because traditional newspapers are awkward because they're so large, two of the popular papers are printed in tabloid style like the National Enquirer. They're opinionated, a little sensational and have too much advertising and sports. Otherwise, they're real newspapers.

If you see someone reading the Daily News, they're probably a Democrat. If they're reading the NY Post, they're probably a Republican.

9. Daily News is as bad as the Post
Whenever you have a sports story as the cover story on a paper (especially with a war going on in the midst of an election campaign), you know something is fishy.

11. A great many people buy the Post
just for the sports coverage. I knew quite a few people, gamblers, who read it religiously for the horse race results.
