The "compassionate christian conservative" also stole every Democratic sign on my street! There are no more JK signs at Democratic party HQs until next week!

3. That happened to me recently but

so far the second sign is lasting. I do have a back-up sign to replace it if it happens again, though.

...to match the size of a yard sign).

People can buy sticks or whatever and tape the whole thing together.

You could print a new one up ever day if they keep getting stolen.

Leave space so people can write in the number of signs that have been stolen.

Once printed it will only last a week or so because of fading, but by then you'll have a new sign.

BTW, I got extra signs just in case they steal ours. Hasn't happen yet.The conservatives here in LA aren't as bold as they were in 2000.

Same thing happened here last night.

The Bush / Cheney sign 2 doors down is still there. Another neighbor has other (local candidate) signs that remained untouched.

Just the Kerry/Edwards signs dissapeared. Just the plastic, not the wire. In fact, what is strange is that it appears that they pulled the sign out of the ground, removed the plastic, and then put the wire back in the ground (poorly).

then into your window, where a thin opening admits it into your residence,

where you have something attached.
The rich may like flashcubes when the shutter lever is pulled...

the middle class might like a cowbell clapper

the poor might use an empty tin can stack, which would tumble when the bottom one is pulled.

Flick on your lights when you hear the cowbell or tins. Keep a cool head and laugh at the nudnicks... no sense in getting into a fight with psycho's . Just shock them into not returning, with your sudden reaction... lights. Laugh at them, float above their antics, be Buddha.

PS the really rich can use a $20 motion detector from a Carol
Wright type catalog or dimestore.

The house directly across the street from the entrance to the Governors mansion here in Atlanta had a Kerry sign for a while, and now it's gone too! Wire frame is still there. (BTW, that house happens to belong to Anne Cox Chambers.)
Governor, of course, is Repub.

MAKE YOUR OWN! :) Or use rally signs and staple them to a scrap piece of wood (use it as a stake).

Ours has been stolen 7 times. Yes, 7 times.

This last time, I attached a sticky-note to both sides that said:

"Dear Sir or Madam,

For each time you steal my sign, I will put another one up within 24 hours, no matter how many time I must do it. I will also write a check to the DNC for $10 for every sign you steal as well (and yes, I can afford it)."

That sign has stayed for over a week now ;)

FYI, at our Dem HQ we are taking down the names and addresses of everyone who tells us of their lawn signs stolen (usually while they are in to get replacement). We have 9 legal pages full of names and we send updated lists to our lawyers, the police and the local paper.

Many now take their signs in at night cause that's when the fascist cowards strike.
