Remember he said, something along the lines of, "the Constitution says we're all created... uh..." and stopped short before saying the word "equal." Is it that he forgot what the Constitution says, or is it that he couldn't bring himself to utter something he did not truly believe in?

1. It wasn't the first time he's been toungue tied over principles
The Bush Dyslexicon pointed out that he's at his best when he's talking about war, executions, or some form of bullying. It's when he tries to talk about social or economic justice that he starts to stutter, stammer, confabulate, and issue his howlers.

This man is NOT one of us. He MUST be ousted.

5. I think you're right! He can't say it because he doesn't believe it.
Good catch! It's like in F9/11, when he starts quoting the old saw "Fool me once, shame on you..." and then is pathologically incapable of completing it with "...shame on me."

I think the doctor who wrote "Bush on the Couch" is correct--if GWB could be made to confront his fears, and be honest about what they are, he would be making a breakthrough, and would have a shot at becoming an integrated personality.
