I think he was way too wild the first part of the debate, but then calmed down when the meds kicked in.

4. There was something from the president's doctor a couple of months |
|
ago, about what medications he takes.
Someone needs to ask that question.
It is pretty obvious that John Kerry does not need medications; some people say he is boring. I like all of the information he spouts.

6. I agree, coke or something very speedy |
|
I tivo'ed it and watched with some neighbors and we kept pausing and backing up every time he twitched and blinked and ground his jaw just to make sure. The jaw was a dead giveaway, and he kept up the grinding during the press the flesh aftermath (watched the CNN coverage). I've never seen him do that jaw thing before.
Also did anyone notice on Larry King Live when Tucker Eskew seemed to say "bullshit" to something Begala said right before a commercial break?

12. I also think we saw some of his famous temper... |
|
..I honestly gasped when he shouted down Gibson and began yelling wildly. I thought we were FINALLY gonna see him lose it on national tv! I was shocked the way Gibson just let Bush bulldoze him over and over to get a response. Didn't someone say that Gibson is a golf buddy of the Bush family??? It was kinda obvious.

17. From the grinding teeth... |
|
my knowledge of "speed" is limited to the movie REQUIEM FOR A DREAM but there is a scene where they talk about people on uppers grinding their teeth.
If they gave him something maybe 1/2 hour before...maybe 30-40 minutes in it could levelled out, which would coincide with him calming down...that's a guess.
Kind of like an overcompensation. I was in a production of ANNIE in high school where the dog they used was a less than year-old puppy who was wired onstage. They gave him a sedative before one performance and the actress was dragging him on his belly the whole time. Bush was saggy and pissy in the first debate cause it was his bedtime, so he took something and went *too* far the other way, culminating in his angry overriding of the moderator.

|
He was TOO perky! He has NEVER been able to get through even the most basic press conference without hesitations, or silences. Last night.. he rushed toward the questioners, shouting and waving! He was definitely on something, or very, very badly coached. I'm sure he still does cocaine, if he did it in the 90's, why would he stop now?

..would have prevented rage. It was obvious from looking at him that his heart was racing and his blood pressure up. I think a beta blocker would make the opposite happen.

But for his own protection, to keep him from blowing what's left of his heart into atoms. It would explain the mumbling, low-affect behavior he showed Tuesday night. He probably has to be on them, though, so he doesn't blow out his ticker.

16. Like a 13 year old who had too much sugar and soda with ADHD |
|
Exactly. All the gesturing and flailing about...the head-bobbing and flailing limbs. And WTF was with his jaw? Half the time he didn't even sit down when he was done talking, he just stood there while Kerry gave his answer like he was too excited to sit still.
ADHD, I'm telling you...

upon seeing clips from 2000 Wash U. debates w/ Gore:
Bush was on some sort of benzo in 00 debate. Sedate. Xanax lets say. Forming words but not ideas slowly.
But several years of benzo use plays hell w/ short and long term memmory, compunding speech problems. Many times beople who are on long term benzo treaments are presribed Adderol (sp?), an ADHD drug, that helps them focus. I'm not certain, but I believe the drug is similar to a methamphetamine but w/ a so called paradoxical effect in peple who are truly ADHD, i.e. does not speed them up but allows focus. I've known two people, both in 40's, who were not diagnosed ADHD as kids/young adults who have been presribed Adderol in conjunction w/ Xanax after years of Xanax use was impacting their cognitive abilities.
Just my pet theory, mind you...

I saw the redneck swagger upon walking away after feeling you had just given someone a what for!
I saw the egotistical "uh huh" nodding of the head many times as well after he had given his what for.
I saw the winks and nods and that's right..all ego and ballsey, macho mannerisms all night.
I saw the overly-done huge grins he gave the questioners and insincere thank yous offered before he swaggered to his seat.
I saw the continual jaw grinding and movement which, from personal experience, is due to drugs which act like speed... adrenaline pumping, on top of the world, I can do anything, drugs.
I saw when he ran rough shod over the mediator and was abhorrent that he did not do more to put him back in his place for having done that.
I wasn't impressed.
Edit: And I saw where he hemmed and hawed trying to recall and act hubmle when asked what 3 mistakes he had made. He admitted none other than general givens of IN THE FUTURE regarding home policies NOT the war, IF and when that time came.
Little Big Man... Little Man Syndrome... tsk tsk
A man full of something besides just himself.

24. Yes. God knows what pharmaceutical cocktail he was speeding on... |
|
but speeding he was: motor-mouthing, jumping out of his chair, not even siting down, interrupting, smirking, laughing, lots of head gestures, etc. etc.
I have NEVER seen this man so animated, chatty and argumentative, and I'm certain that chemistry had something to do with it.
