Blaming the victims

In our current political climate, where up is down and down is up, black is white and white is black, consider the following:

1.A man who has had everything handed to him because of his wealth and privilege, including admission to the most elite of our colleges and graduate schools,blames Affirmative Action programs that seeks to rectify institutionalized discrimination against black Americans for centuries.

2.The same man avoids service in the armed forces by a subterfuge available only to him and several privileged children of the powerful,denigrates, through proxies, the proven courage and valor of his opponent who depite his own wealth volunteered for duty in our war.

3.This self same man, whose father was a vigorous supporter of the Taliban and Saddam Hussein,now claims to have discovered an evil of the nth degree in the same dictator and uses another subterfuge to lead this country into a destructive war.

4.His bloodcurdling description of the torture chambers and rape rooms in Saddam Hussein's prisons can be more aptly applied to the rape rooms and torture sessions at the infamous prisons at Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo.When questioned on these torture, we encounter deathly silence.To avoid any future examination of his tortures, this man now ships out prisoners to parts unknown using a new concept called "extraordinary rendition".

5.After having claimed that the Iraqi people would be delighted to welcome his invading army with flowers,he has now taken to describing the Iraqi people as terrorists for mounting a resistance against the invaders.This allows him, of course, to cut them down brutally at will with no consequence.

so many more examples could be added to yours. Right now I'm thinking of Elizabeth Dole at the RNC, rhapsodizing about their being the party that cherishes life. So they fight to pass laws that will protect zygotes, but their policies result in grim pregnancy related death for hundreds of thousands of women and infants in third world nations. And forced pregnancy for girls and women, many of whom are victims of rape and incest. etc. etc. etc.

4. For a long time I have considered our mainstream media as barren deserts
