Not so distant lineage of Shrub's ancestors discovered in Africa
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/3730574.stm

Scientists believe they have discovered a new group of giant apes in the jungles of central Africa.
The animals, with characteristics of both gorillas and chimpanzees, have been sighted in the north of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

They stand up to two metres tall, the size of gorillas, but unlike gorillas, they nest on the ground, not in trees.

If they are a new species of primate, it could be one of the most important wildlife discoveries in decades.

The Republican party is now trying to capture a female so she can give birth here in the U.S. to a future GOP candidate.

OK, kidding, the last line was mine

2. If what the villager said is true,
I wouldn't want to mess with something that can kill a lion or hunts like chimpanzees do.

I wish there was a photo with the article.

4. Well, that's news to me.
I always assumed BeelzeBrush was a direct descendant of the Australopithecus, an annoying little squatty creature with a very small brain. It was also called the "killer ape".

Thanks for the update! I always said Bush was the missing link.
