Did you guys see this?
Article on MSNBC. Can you believe what they are saying about our party?

Here's the link: http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6214647/site/newsweek/

Here's a piece...

"But an uncensored copy of the Duelfer report obtained by NEWSWEEK indicates Houston oil mogul Oscar Wyatt got oil allocations from Saddam which could have earned him and Coastal Corp.—a company he founded and ran until 2000—profits of more than $22 million. Wyatt and wife Lynn are major donors to political causes: since 1989 they have given nearly $700,000 in contributions, of which more than $500,000 went to Democrats."

They are claiming that some of Kerry's campaign money came from the UN Oil-For-Food scandal! Something about some Duelfer report that the CIA had deleted.

5. Unlike the "other" party
we don't stick our heads in the sand. In other words, we were aware of the facts even before the MSNBC post. (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=102&topic_id=893453&mesg_id=893798)

Speaking of facts, who is the "They" that are claiming "some of Kerry's campaign money came from the UN Oil-For-Food scandal," as you wrote?

Myesteriously, that assertion is not in the article you cited, only in your post.

Oh, and welcome to DU.

13. LOL, Love the way you interpret "some of Kerry's campaign money"
As if it were written in the article. Where does it say Kerry's campaign? You're assuming that "Democrats" = Kerry, and that all contributions for the past FIFTEEN years (since 1989) somehow interprets to some scandal. What about the $200,000 that didn't go to Democrats?

Oh, and welcome to DU.

16. I just checked fundrace and NO contributions from Oscar or Lynn Wyatt
Edited on Sun Oct-10-04 09:40 AM by Misunderestimator
in 2004... at all... to ANYONE. Now WHAT was your point? :eyes:

Oscar Wyatt: http://www.fundrace.org/neighbors.php?type=name&lname=Wyatt&fname=Oscar&search=Search+by+Name
Lynn Wyatt: http://www.fundrace.org/neighbors.php?type=name&lname=Wyatt&fname=Lynn&search=Search+by+Name
Anyone named Wyatt: http://www.fundrace.org/neighbors.php?type=name&lname=Wyatt&fname=&search=Search+by+Name

On edit... I just checked my own name, and all MY contributions are listed... Hmm... what a quandary.

Chris Matthews - she said that major Texas Oil men are involved. Chris then asked D or R - she said R with a smile.

23. Andrea Mitchell just said on Tweety Show that....
scandal would break soon about the UN oil-for-food fraud and that it would involve "Rs" not "Ds." An oil magnate contributing primarily to Dems? Maybe. Maybe. But that's not typical. I hope to heck not.

If it is, this may be what Rove was referring to...one of the October surprises.

But I'm gonna go with what Andrea Mitchell just said. It involves Repubs. Oil....Texas....we can put THAT together.
