1. First time poster.....

I'm sorry to hitchhike on Springsteen's thread, but I am too new here to start my own thread, and I also have something that I think you would like to hear or at least know about, and I don't think Bruce will mind! I went to hear Michael Moore here in Nashville last night (fantastic evening!!) We are trying VERY hard to put Tennessee in the blue state column on November 2, even though the pundits have written it off as a lost cause. Folks, there are no lost causes, ever, as long as we keep fighting the good fight!! One of the high points of the evening was the debut of a new country music song, "I'm takin' my country back," by the Honky Tonkers for Truth. It is really catchy, has great lyrics, and might make some people in a very important demographic think a little about what is going on in this country. I'm posting a link to where you can hear the song in hopes that one of you might like it enough to start a thread, and that you will call your local radio stations to request it. In case you are wondering, I don't know the Honky Tonkers for truth, and have nothing to do with the record, but I really liked it and obviously Michael Moore did, too.

Thanks for the report from the Vol State and don't think we've given up on you and your state at all. Looking at the latest polls:

Tennessee has suffered from skewed polls and we know how close you folks came in 2000 and how there's gotta be a lot of very quiet, determined Democrats there who are ready to have their voices and votes really heard. I also see some very good things happening in Arkansas as well.

Glad you made it to DU, you're just in time for one of the most exciting, and hopefully rewarding, times of our lives.
