My Local K-Mart Has Christmas Decorations On Display Already |
|
Is there some mathematical formula that can correlate the overall strength of the economy with the date that retailers first put up the Christmas displays?
Or are the two events unrelated and it's just the "creeping" effect of competition as each retailer tries to get a bit of an edge over the other retailers?

1. Before Halloween? HAHAHAHA |

I wonder if fundies are offended? Do you think they even catch the irony of mixing these two holidays?

when Christmas decorations did not go up until after Thanksgiving. Then they didn't go up until after Halloween. It's been mid-October for several years now, at least.
I simply refuse to look at or think about Christmas stuff until November, and by then a lot of it has gone on sale. I think they may actually be making less money of the Christmas stuff, not more, because many people must do the same, and so more of it is sold on sale rather than at full price.
I remember from my childhood (50s and 60s) that NOTHING was marked down until after Christmas.
