The Rush To War. Bush rushed to war before the world would find out
that there were no wmds.

I'm sick to death of the big lie that is getting continually spread about the "intelligence failure".

They flat out knew there were no wmds there. Bush kicked the inspectors out before the truth could be known, which would have taken away his rationale for invading in the first place. They were intent on using the window that 9-11 gave them and they couldn't afford to wait.

How many times did we read that intelligence was telling him the opposite of what they are saying in the media now? How often were we told before the crap hit the fan, that Rumsfeld and company had set up their own "intelligence"?

In fact, a big point missing in all of this is the Bush Company M.O.
They set up their own agencies to do what the official agencies are supposed to be doing. Is it because they need to manipulate the results of everything in their favor?

Why don't we hear anymore about how Cheney was practically breathing down the CIA's throat to say what he wanted them to say?

Will we ever ever get a free press again? It's scary.

1. The runup to the Iraq war was run exactly like a scam
Pretend the costs will be negligible, the benefits plentiful and easily acquired and most importantly -- ACT NOW BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!

The media not only didn't question it, they played right along with it. Disgusting.

2. Well he* had the troops just sitting in the desert. He* couldn't let
them sit there and not use them. Eventually, it would have led to mutiny. He* boxed himself in. Those soldiers couldn't camp in the desert waiting for the inspectors to finish the inspection.
