Great party last night! My local UNION turns 100!
Sheet Metal Worker's #162, Sacramento Ca. is 100 years old! Seeing all those ol geezers (with pensions & health benefits) was wonderful... I just wish more Americans had the right to retire with dignity like we do.... Always remember what chimp said: "Unions are a detriment to the economy."

2. We had our stewards dinner dance last night.
Teamsters local 299 Detroit and we talked about the same things, and how we wish that all workers could have our hard fought for benefits.
Our local has the most precinct delegates in the state we are pulling out all the stops to get Kerry Edwards elected.

7. Congratulations
There's such a lack of working class organizations in the US with some history, this is good to hear. I feel strong, militant, rank-and-file run unions in the United States (and elsewhere) are more important even than the Democratic Party.

I worked on Wall Street doing computer stuff a few years ago. Compared to us computer guys, the electricians who were IBEW were "old geezers" (In their 40s and 50s). Most of us were in our 20s - who knows what happens to computer guys in their 40s and 50s, I'm beginning to fear we get sent off somewhere like in that movie Logan's Run. The IBEW worked 9 to 5, had secure jobs and pensions while we were unorganzied and worked unpaid overtime (thanks to FLSA law changes), faced layoffs and all of that. For some reason, instead of resenting our bosses or trying to get the deal the electricians got, many of the people I worked with resented the electricians, thinking they didn't deserve it so good since we were supposedly smarter than them. I wonder how many think this way a few years older and with the economy bad for a few years.

8. murdoch! Welcome to the DU!
To the folks that think UNION Construction workers have it too good...... I've broken both my heel bones and my back on the job. I can't count the number of stiches I have enjoyed. I've seen 3 men die on the job in my 30 years, and know of plenty more. I have a degree in psychology but chose to stick with my UNION because of our negotiated compensation package. Our local employers are among my best friends & they are making their $$$$$ too.

11. Right On Amigo!
I'm over here on the left coast in Culeeforneeya, thankfully a chimp free zone. I've sent over a thousand of my UNION pension bucks to the battle field states & I'm damn proud to do it. Keep up the good fight my friend.

12. We aren't a battle ground state, bush
has a 10+ point lead, but we are fighting those fascist as hard as we can.

I believe we will pick up some seats in congress, maybe one or two.

Jim Bunning must not win.

Help Dr Dan beat Jim Bunning.
