Bush* Anger: "The man is a walking time bomb"
Pundits agree: BUSH WAS ANGRY!
by thirdparty
Sat Oct 9th, 2004 at 07:40:18 GMT

(From the diaries -- kos)

Andrew Sullivan: "There were moments early on... when he seemed to me to be close to shouting; and his hyper-aggressiveness, having to respond to everything, went at times over the line of persuasiveness."

Ron Forunier, AP: "As he fought to keep his emotions in check in a testy, personal debate with Sen. John Kerry, the president asserted 'That answer almost made me scowl.'... Several answers brought Bush's emotions to the surface, for better or worse, as he sought to curb Kerry's momentum.... Bush was the most aggressive, at one point overrunning moderator Charles Gibson's attempt to pose a question.."

David Niven, political science professor at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton (from the above article):"Bush seemed wound a bit too tight. He was a little like Nixon sort of jumping out of his suit... He looked bad on the TV close-ups.""

Jonah Goldberg, National Review: "WHY DOES BUSH... Sound like he's angry at the guy asking about making drugs cheaper?

UPDATED with more:

Paul Begala, CNN: "Good debate. The press will say it's a draw, but I think Kerry bested Bush -- or rather Bush made a few errors. Two words for President Bush: anger management. He spent much of the debate nearly yelling at the audience."

John Whitesides, Reuters: "An angry Bush at one point cut off moderator Charles Gibson to upbraid Kerry for criticising the size of the coalition backing the United States in Iraq, saying it denigrated allies like Britain and Poland."

Beth Gorham, CBC News: "It all added up to a major challenge for the president, who appeared angry and defensive during attacks from Kerry in a tense sparring match on Sept. 30 that was watched by some 62 million Americans."

Oliver Willis: "BUSH FLIPS OUT: Click here to watch your President flip out of his gourd. I've never seen anything like it.

Billmon (back from the dead): "If Kerry and the Dems can't make an issue out of the fact that the president of the United States is utterly incapable of controlling his hairtrigger temper, they don't deserve to win this election... I mean, the man is a walking time bomb."

UPDATED again:

David Paul Kuhn, CBSNews.com: "BUSH MAD, KERRY COMPOSED... Though Mr. Bush was more composed than in last week's first presidential debate, all agreed his tone was sometimes antagonistic and he again appeared uncomfortable being challenged. Kerry, on the other hand, was viewed as measured and articulate. " ---

2. This should be the campaign meme!!!
Does this man have the temperment to be Prez?

Do we want him in charge of the black box?

He has trouble controlling his rage!

What is he so angry about?

3. Finally, the third debate
when Kerry will make his final arguments. Kerry was a prosecutor. This debate will be the one where Kerry lays down his hand. The other two were to set W up for the knock down. Kerry is saving the best for last and I am sure he will push enough of W's buttons to send him into a public meltdown.

Pass the popcorn.

5. About damn time people started admitting it!
It pisses me off that the press is pretending nothing happened, when it was clear that he almost lost it and flipped out

8. Segment where shrub is hyper-rude to Moderator.
That should be posted and spread all over the Internet(s).

This Sociopath does not tolerate any challenge to his failures.
He was born with a silverspoon up is ass and expects everyone to kiss up to him. He has never been accountable to his failures in the NG, business, or in govt. because the Bush Crime Family has covered for him. It is way past time that he be held accountable for his crimes.

9. Something I found interesting in
debate #2 between Bush and Kerry is when Bush talked about not joining the International Criminal Court...his talking about it didn't match the question that was asked. He's seriously worried about war crimes if you ask me.

10. I wondered about that statement too. That is why I think they will do
ANYTHING to stay in power. I went to a Kerry rally and he said he fully expected for them to throw everything including the kitchen sink at him over the next few weeks. I think Bush is very worried about being charged.

15. I agree
and so is Cheney and is probably one of the reasons they stick to their stupid reasons. Admitting to a mistake now would make them vulnerable to prosecution for war crimes, although I don't know what court would do that. LOL They have seen to it that they covered up their ass--yet there should be some court somewhere that could bring charges against them all. If not--it is a plain tragedy that would open the door to more of the same, from them, if elected again, or any who would follow.

11. MSNBC was saying that men would "love" how tough Bush was...
in reference to his screaming at Charles Gibson. Perhaps he impressed a few men, but I think it hurt him with women.

Most of the women I have spoken with all say they hated his yelling and jumping out of the chair. They thought he seemed like a jerk.

That's red-necked men for you :( I got the feeling that whoever beats their wives/girlfriends up would "love" how tough bush was.

13. How can anyone trust a president who behaves like this?
Edited on Sun Oct-10-04 08:28 PM by Q
- This isn't 'macho'. This isn't the behavior of a 'strong leader'....but someone who sees the world in black and white and 'my way or the highway'.

- And this is exactly why Bush* wasn't able to build a coalition. Most people can see he's an arrogant, lying, deceitful, manipulating asswipe.

14. There is comment that I like:
It's like the 19-year-old said after the first debate: If the terrorists caught Bush, he would cry and tell them everything they want to know. If the terrorists taught Kerry, he tell them to go f*ck themselves.

I agree!
