Trivial pursuit: VP Agnew
On what day in 1973 did Spiro Theodore Agnew, the spiritual advisor of Dick Cheney, plead "no contest" to the charge that he had failed to report income from business "payoffs," and resign in humiliation?

4. It's a great day
in democratic history! Agnew was one of the most crooked and evil men in American politics. He was arrogant, and loved to insult people on the left. At the time, most of us believed that there could never, under any circumstance, be a more crooked and evil man to hold that office. Cheney takes the cake, though.
