This is just a little piece of anecdotal evidence that shows what people are really reading in the newspapers. The majority of these stories have an anti-Bush tilt. Combine this with the voter registrations being up all over the nation, and I think you start to get an idea that "likely voters" in most polls are being counted incorrectly. Call it a small, inconclusive piece of positive news.
Here's the NYT's list of most emailed articles in the last 24 hours:
# Voting Our Conscience, Not Our Religion If Catholic voters honestly examine the issues of consequence, they may find themselves returning to their Democratic roots.
# Webs of Illusion A president who spends too much time spinning webs of illusion can become trapped in them.
# How Bush Won Round 2 President Bush won the second debate by boring in on John Kerry's record of flip-flopping on the war and being consistently liberal on tax increases.
# Kerry's Undeclared War John Kerry has a thoughtful, forward-looking theory about terrorism and how to fight it. But can it resonate with Americans in the post-9/11 world?
# Nuclear Fiction Lincoln could admit mistakes. J.F.K. could admit mistakes. But W. thinks admitting mistakes is for powder puffs.
# Christopher Reeve, 'Superman' and Crusader for Stem Cells, Dies The actor turned personal tragedy into a public crusade, becoming a major spokesman for spinal-cord research.
# The Mystery of the Bulge in the Jacket According to rumors racing across the Internet, the rectangular bulge visible between President Bush's shoulder blades was a radio receiver, transmitting answers.
