Poll question: How long should a US President term be? |
|
Every 4 years we go through this. I am appalled at the amount of money that is spent, mostly on Bushit TV ads, to elect our President. This money could go to so many more important things. The dems especially give money they can't afford to give.

3. It's not how long it is -- |
|
-- but how it's used.
Bush does not understand the concept of public service. His four years have been given over to his corporate donors.
This administration is arrogant and deceitful. They need to go.

I think it should be the same for the house & senate as well! I am a firm believer that there should not be any career politicians.

7. One 6 year term, with an "approve/disapprove" at 3 years.. |
|

If it's disapprove, an election in 90 days..
I would like to see a similar thing for the SCOTUS...
A person would not have achieved a high enough stature to even be considered for that position until they were well into their late 40's /early 50's, and LIFETIME appointment in modern times could be 30 years or MORE..
The founding fathers set up their "rules" when life expectancy would have meant that a justice would probably serve no more than 15 years..
They need to set a minimum of 50 yrs of age...and a term limited to 10 years... After that 10, they could have their name re-submitted for an additional 10, but they would have to go through confirmation again..
