Sinclair travesty "just fine" with Repug Talking Heads...
First of all, I think it is good that the Sinclair story is getting a lot of media time, but it is just amazing to watch the responses from the Rethug reps on the talking head shows and how they justify their stance.

"Oh, it is only fair that Sinclair be allowed to do this. I've seen and heard nothing but Michael Moore and Farenheit 9/11, and the media has such a liberal bias anyway, it is only balancing things out for this to happen, blah, blah, blah (ad nauseum)." They have no problem whatsoever with the media shoving "their" message down people's throats... Remember what they did about the network tele-drama about Reagan a few months ago? Oh God what an uproar. Basically their real message is "Democracy be damned!"

Oh, and the media moderators are at full tilt for the Rethugs too. This morning Bill Hemmer was interviewing Terry McAuliffe and Kenneth Mehlman about the matter. He gave Terry about a minute and a half to make his case and then turned it over the Mehlman for about a five-minute diatribe. Of course, Hemmer challenged Terry at every turn, but just let Mehlman spew and spew. I thought he was at least going to go back to T.Mc. for a final word, but NO!, this was not to be. He just ended it there.

I just wonder sometimes if we have a snowball's chance in hell anymore! :grr:

2. Bill Hemmer just interviewed the VP of Sinclair broadcasting...
He let him yammer for a good five minutes. The biggest challenge Hemmer gave the creep was to ask him, "Can't you see why Democrats would be upset about this?" The man said "no" and that what they were offering was "newsworthy".

Bill never asked him if it might be illegal or any other reason it shouldn't be done. He did ask the guy if the folks over at Sinclair had a bias against Kerry. The Veep tried to spin around it, but Hemmer asked him again. The guy said "No, there certainly shouldn't be an anti-Kerry bias." Bwahahaha!!! That statement alone made him look like the big jerk that he obviously is.

At any rate, this "interview" turned out to be nothing but a free forum for Sinclair to push its agenda. The VP said they had invited Kerry to come on for a few minutes AFTER the airing to have a say in the matter. Whoop-Tee-Doo!

If this thing airs, it will have to go down in history as one of the most anti-democratic events in the history of this country's "free" press.
