Question of precedent
Say Bush is re-elected, but we win the house and senate, do you think Nancy Pelosi would pull a Carl Albert if impeachment succeeded?

I read that he urged Nixon to pick Ford because he believed that since the country entrusted a Republican to that office, it would be improper to impose a Democratic mandate.

1. I thought Ford was picked because he was a nobody -
and Nixon thought that it would lessen the chances of his impeachment if someone so dumb was in line. Also, Ford was non-controversial and easily confirmed.

2. I read that Nixon said
of Ford--"they will never impeach me now, this guy can't walk and chew gum at the same time!"

3. All that is out the window these days
Dan Quayle settled the argument once and for all and Bush has cast it in stone. 'Mericun's have no issues with having dumb politicians.
