Scenario: Kerry wins, huge terror attack before inaguration...
Do you think the BFEE would either LIHOP or MIHOP or "use" the situation to stay in power?

My apologies if this has been discussed previously.

1. it may be more likely the neocons would regroup....
and form a longer term strategy, such as happened under Bush I. They are probably realizing W. is turning into a liability.

5. LIHOP is
Let It Happen On Purpose and MIHOP is Made It Happen On Purpose.
And BFEE is Bush Family Evil Empire.
(It took me forever to figure it out too)

12. Thank you. For some reason, I was thinking it had something
to do with the International House of Pancakes :)

3. yes they would
and after we win, a part of me wants to hide president elect John Kerry in a secret bunker until exactly 12:00 noon on January 20th, 2005.

4. Sure they would. But they'd better be ready for the consequences.
There are still some Free Americans, a very few, remaining in our Empire.

6. I think it would be too late by then.
The next three weeks will tell the story.

I still think "al Qaeda determined to disrupt election" and "al Qaeda wants John Kerry to win" are in play.

7. Hmmmmm, if they are indeed that powerful why wouldn't they
just kill Kerry now?

9. Not if they think Bush can still win...
... which they do. That way they can have him re-elected without having the mess of an assassination to worry about.

No, if any nightmare scenario like that happens, it'll be after Kerry is elected - which he will be, despite any right-wing delusions. I second the bunker idea, btw. That sounds macabre but I don't trust these fascist traitors any farther than I trust al-Qaeda.

Let's all just hope that even *they* aren't that evil.

8. Slightly off topic, but don't you think that Osama wouldn't have needed
to attack the US if Gore had been declared the winner?

Imagine, if you will, the Miami "coat-and-tie" protest repeated across the country, then armed, then storming the capitol.

The Repukes would be leading the 2nd US Civil War . . . this country would be so divided that Osama bin Laden would have just sat back and laughed . . .

10. There have been other threads about a 'December Surprise'.
Edited on Tue Oct-12-04 12:17 PM by NCevilDUer
What I've seen are suggestions of crises that will cripple the upcoming Kerry administration (he catches blame for terrorist attack, for gas/heating fuel prices through the roof, collapse of the stock market, etc.)

I've seen no suggestion, till now, of a LI/MIHOP incident such as a strike at congress, or wave of bombings to provoke martial law being used to abrogate the change of administrations in, effectively, a coup.

I don't expect to ever see that.

Then again, I never expected to see the air force stand down while hijacked jets took out the WTC. Or threats of mob violence disrupt American elections, throwing the election to the party that spurred the violence.

It has crossed my mind.

11. Does a bear MIHOP in the woods?
Edited on Tue Oct-12-04 12:24 PM by patsified
On edit: the bear's activities could be more of a LIHOP thing, depending on his diet.

On 2nd edit: does a lame-duck Bush send under-equipped troops to Somalia in December?
