How can a president arbitrarily overrule a Congressional Law
Releasing the Presidential Papers was made Law by Congress after Nixon. The law states that after no more than twelve years Presidential Papers must be made Public. Bush* just threw that law out the window and no one said a word. Why hasn't Kerry spoken up about this? Why hasn't any democrat spoken up? Are laws totally meaningless anymore?

1. Riddle me this Batman: When is a pResident not a pResident?
When he is EMPEROR!

Applying the rule of Law and Free Nations to Bush* is like doing the same for Stalin, Hitler, Pinochet, Ferd Marcos, et al.

Imperial Amerika is a lawless land like Soviet Russia. Stalin or Bush can do whatever they like, no laws or rules apply.

The simple, unvarnished truth.

2. By executive order. Presidents get to do a lot that way
they couldn't otherwise.

Where's the outrage? You got me there.

4. Just how many Excecutive Orders has bush made ?
I ask because when debating a freep in a parking lot
the freep said "but clinton issued an excecutive order"

Seemed like a crazy statement at the time ,
because all presidents issue excecutive orders.

I wonder if bush has the record with excecutive orders .

9. They all add up. If I find a penny on the ground I pick it up
I don't wait until I find a dollar instead. The main issue is getting rid of Bush* and getting Kerry elected. I am working on that daily and part of my efforts is to instil doubt about Bush* and his methods. Sorry you feel my efforts are wasted.

10. An Executive Order was posted....
....on DU a long time ago that discontinued weekly meetings between Intel agencies....these meetings had been taking place since the inception of the CIA....by the time I got around to checking up on the validity of the post, I had misplaced the number.....if anyone recalls this post/EO, a reminder would be appreciated....Best Wishes

11. I've wondered the same. I always thought that executive orders
could overturn regulations which weren't law (such as the determination of what constitutes a 'wetland' -- which was how he removed 5 million acres from protection so he could later boast of adding 3 million under the new guidelines; or cutting funding for overseas health clinics that performed abortions) but laws had to go through congress.

What is the scope of powers for executive orders?
