My S.O. said something a few minutes ago that I think is appropriate

he's a LOT younger than I am and I was a little surprised that he exhibited as much knowledge as he did about something that's old my my standards and positively ancient by his...he made a comparison between the "fight on terra" with the Prohibition Amendment (who knew I taught him so well? :D) And it's something I hadn't thought much about before, although I had thought about the similarity with the "war on drugs" which now that I think about was, and is, "more of the same" as it was when alcohol was "outlawed". He even mentioned "speakeasies", a word I probably hadn't spoken in many years, but the implication was clear...the "terrorist" cells now under construction since the invasion of Iraq are analogous to those basement/hidden/peekaboo doorway establishments that proliferated (along with the Mafia/gangs that supported & financed them) in the 'roaring 20s'.

Well, just a little rant. I'm proud of my relatively young friend. :D

1. Congratulations for having the guts to live up to your love...

One of my dearest friends is 50ish; his gorgeous partner is about 22. They've been together for over a year, happy as clams, and I expect them to remain so for quite some time. Ed is helping to educate Chris, Chris is invigorating Ed. Everyone wins.

We're spending the weekend with them in a couple of weeks (my partner is 55 and I'm 50) and I can't wait! Chris is eye candy, yes, but he's also a very intelligent young man with lots to say.
