BBV-Diebold Expects Legal Costs to Lower Earnings
NORTH CANTON, Ohio (Dow Jones)--Diebold Inc. (DBD) lowered its earnings outlook to reflect costs stemming from a California civil suit.

In a press release Monday, the maker of security systems said it expects legal costs to lower third-quarter earnings by five cents a share to about 67 cents. It had expected to earn between 70 cents and 74 cents a share in the quarter.

Note that this release incorrectly states the amount of the suit at $5.19 million. AP later corrected the error to reflect the more accurate $5000 (five thousand) figure.
