ASU Frat Boys = Bush Fans |

Was anyone else disturbed at the frat boy/* element on Hardball today? Think if they were drafted and getting their legs blown off they'd be thinking differently?

3. Frat-boys don't get drafted, they do "alternative service" - |
|
At least, they do under the new plans that BushCo is trying desperately to cobble together right now, for implementation in what? January 05?

Ooh, my back!
Ooh, my knee!
Then it would be off to ski lodge for an active winter break with Courtney and the sisters of Tri-Delt.

I am one of the ancients who remembers the Vietnam war years very clearly. And I remember very clearly the consequences of the draft, especially when we would see on TV every night a list of soldiers who were killed in action. This greatly concentrated the minds of the draft-age guys. If those little Bushazoids' asses were on the line like that, they might think differently. Unfortunately, it's easy to be oblivious and cavalier when it's not your butt getting shot at.

9. You said that so well. I was snarling "Send the little bastards to Iraq |
|
if they think it's such a great war!" while they were strutting their preppy GOP-ness.
It always amazes me to hear young men say they don't want to fight in a war they "support." In their misguided minds, "It's something those guys who enlisted wanted to do so they should do it." Someone needs to force them to study logic.

15. I've been totally shunned by frat brothers for marching against Vietnam |
|
But it saves me postage at Christmas time. All that "brother" bullshit went down the tubes when I turned against the war which few "brothers" ended up going to anyway. Didn't like it either when I marched for civil rights (we were an all-white frat then). Plus I was toking (wasn't very Izod or Weejun of me...made me a full-tilt hippie) when my brothers were still beer bonging (that changed a few years later, however).
But all those hundreds of pushups during pledgeship did prevent me getting putting on freshman fat, but I would never let a child of mine go Greek.

...why Tweety didn't ask those who were baying at the war moon if they planned to enlist. It's easy for them to be for war if it ain't their own hide.

13. No shit. People say "how will Kerry get troops"... well fuck them |
|
I say, start by drafting the college Rethuglicans.
If you support a war and a president to the point of saying that his needless war is protecting our very freedoms, then why wouldn't you enlist when you heard that they need more troops?
These people are not patriotic. They are spineless shithead cowards who only want to watch war on TV so they can feel tough and puff their chests about how proud they are to be on the winning side.
Fuck them, those stupid motherfuckers need to be swept up into service and sent off to Iraq.
