CiCi needs ANGRY music! NZ has been invaded!!!

Just now on TV there was a slapfight between the Commissioner for Children (who's lovely and cuddly and liberal) and the dreaded MAXIM INSTITUTE, which may or may not secretly be the NZ wing of the Republican party.

Such issues which got my goat were the smacking debate, the annoying should-parents-be-notified-when-underage-daughters-get-abortions debate, and, of course, the continual insinuation that the ONLY type of family is one with a mummy AND a daddy.

Apparently it is WRONG for the government to extend to samesex couples the rights given to heterosexual couples, because that slippery slope will lead us to GAY PEOPLE HAVING CHILDREN (like they don't already) which will mean the POOR BABIES (children, not gay people) are deprived of the "natural opportunities and love" granted to nuclear-family children.

I thought it might be a good place to send my kids if things got too hot here.

I will stay and fight if the repukes win and the fundies take over. But I would like them to have a choice, if they want or need to leave the country.

I have a sister in law in Oz, but she is a conservative herself. I don't think she would help.

Shove them away before they take over. It is not too late for you.

As to your local issues, I am sorry. However, here in America we have hope that sanity will return in 3 short weeks! After that it is possible that we can spread our message of renewed hope around the world, and perhaps even affect the climate in NZ. One can dream.

I didn't know that New Zealand had fundies like that. I naively thought that America was the only place that had that type of fundy.

As for angry music, have you heard much of Transplants? Some of the fiercest vocals I've ever heard. Or, if punk rock's not your thing, there's always Public Enemy.

As I said, the Maxim Institute are like the Repubs, and the biggest fundies, Destiny Church, are Kiwis trained by US televangelists. My Goddess they're scary.
