Straw admits to Parliament that Blair was Bush's poodle

Just a small quote from the House of Commons yesterday, but quite telling, I think:

After this comradely greeting, the Foreign Secretary went on: "We wanted to allow Blix more time but there was not an effective international consensus in favour of doing so."

In other words, Britain went to war in Iraq because Bush told them to (because there was no-one else who could have overridden a British desire to let Blix carry on), not because of a decision by the Beritish government.

Iraq sent a huge report to the UN which let Bush edit by approx 70% before anyone else got to see it. That report, and the statements that "Iraq has no WMD" in the press were plain enough.

So where exactly is the deception? Iraq said it had no WMD, it had NO WMD. Bush and Blair said they did.
