Something about O'Reilly (and most conservatives) you need to learn: |
|
Edited on Wed Oct-13-04 05:24 PM by Paragon
In psychiatry, it's called projection -- accusing others of sins that you, in fact, practice. Examples:
Newt Gingrich, Henry Hyde, Bob Livingston, etc...calling Bill Clinton out on his infidelities.
Bob Barr...a strong anti-abortionist.
Rush Limbaugh...going off on "pillheads" on his radio show.
Today, O'Reilly on...eww, don't make me repeat it.
And tonight, it'll be George W. Bush...accusing John Kerry of spending excesses.
To simply call it hypocrisy misses the point; this is something much more sinister. Projection, folks -- see it in your Republican friends and the morans they elect into office.

Henry Hyde.."It was a youthful indiscretion" when he was 40 something! Don't forget Dan Burton!
They're all hypocrites.

5. Republicans do this all the time |
|
Hypocracy is their calling card. The incredible thing is, their followers never seem to pick up on it.

7. Yes. No one is immune. |
|
Futhermore, to identify a behavior in others, means we see it in ourselves. How else would we know to recognize it?

9. Recognizing it in yourself is one thing. |
|
Acting on it is another.
Making public policy on it or using it to destroy your enemies (or, in this case, blathering on about it on your Fox talk show) is quite another.

About Jesse Helms; after he dies they find the dried skins of children in his attic, his wife on CNN twenty times a day going, "I always wondered about his collection of little shoes."

11. Yep- it's used constantly as a rhetorical device |
|
to innoculate them from being called on their crap. And, unfortunately, most Americans are so stupid that it's effective.
