I got to see Michael Moore last nite at the Del Mar Fairgrounds!
The story is long, but he was initially scheduled at the Cal State University San Marcos (near the 78 fwy, just north of San Diego, between the 5 - the Coast - and the 15). The University president vetoed the idea; the San Diego Bank reportedly threatened her if he came; the students and community protested. Initially, he was to speak to approx. 1,100 students on campus.

Post-protest, he was scheduled at the nearby Del Mar Fairgrounds/Racetrack. Last night, we had 10,000+ there. All ages. And he brought along Joan Baez, and we 40ish's sang peace songs with her, and remembered her going through a very similar situation in D.C. The lead singer from Rage Against the Machine was there, as well as the brother of a soldier who died in Iraq.

Stunning. People of all ages, cheering, discussing, laughing, and vowing to work to get Kerry elected.

One fun part was gesturing to the 40 or so pro-Bush protesters who yelled to us on our way in there.

Absolutely great time! Apparently, Pfiser is scared to death of them. And he read a funny memo that Pfiser employees had smuggled to him, warning them not to talk to Mr. Michael Moore. He even gave us the 'Pfiser Michael Moore hotline number' to call to tell them he was under a desk nearby!

One of the most special events I've ever attended!
