Did Bush receive the questions in advance?
Bush seemed more prepared, with somewhat coherent answers, moreso than during the previous two debates. It crossed my mind, early in the debate, that he may have been given the questions in advance.

While I do think Kerry won the debate regardless, I'm wondering what you guys think? Did Bush have prior knowledge of the questions that were being asked?

1. That's the impression I got

Foreknowledge of questions and a chance to prepare answers. They were less successful at masking his attitudes.

2. With the way he stuttered and stammered?
I don't think so. Even if questions were fed to him, he would find a way to screw it up.

4. Didn't he stutter less than in the other debates?
Especially at the beginning.

3. Would His Good Buddy, the Moderator, Do That?
More likely Karl fed the questions to the moderator.
All nice softballs.

5. If so, he can't answer a direct question even when he KNOWS the questions
And that's pitiful.

6. Sort of.
Try to follow what I am thinking. It would be unethical for him to get the questions beforehand *hee, hee*, so I don't think he got any cheat sheets. What he got was a, "what would Schieffer ask?" type of coaching. Of course, maybe the coaches had lunch, cocktails, underground parking lot meetings with Bob. Who knows? *throws hands up*

7. I got real suspicious when the Chimp guffawed
right as Schieffer was starting his question on illegal immigration by saying "I got a lot of e-mails"

Why would he start giggling like that before the question was even asked? Was he just being his usual goofy idiotic self, or was he anticipating the question?

In any case, Chimpy got his third ass whipping of the month. He better pack lightly.

8. Nah, they were softballs from a sympathetic moderator.
He still sounded like a moron, and didn't even answer some of them - Min. wage increase and affirmative action in particular - he just went back to his "education" spiel.

9. there were several questions asked of the little bushturd
that Schieffer phrased with rhetorical language right out of the little bushturd's campaign speeches. This set him up to respond "seamlessly," although he still blew it as often as not.

10. this was my impression
I got the same gut response after the first few questions asked. That would explain why * kept grinning and smiling so much. And it would also show why he did seem slightly more prepared than in the other debates. He seemed to have percentages available for rebuttal, and was ready with his response on the Bl caucus, how many bills Kerry had voted for or against, that he hadn't actually written many bills, and all of that. It would've been too much for him to remember all of that w/o a good prep and crib sheet. That Kerry still bested him shows he is presidential all the way through. Plus, I got the feeling Kerry knew what was going on. He kept using the word 'gut', in your gut you know, and you can feel it in your gut. I felt nauseated in my gut, and very upset after the debate. I enjoyed him comparing Bush to Tony Soprano, and saying that Bush had married up- and that got a laugh. Yup, Kerry is the real deal, and he doesn't need to wear an ear wire.

12. He was more relaxed and composed this time, however.
He's an absolute ass, but he was less wired and explosive than in the last debate, although he was good and creepy. ~ shudder ~

After they left, someone on MSNBC, probably Pat Buchanan, said that Kerry is a polished debater, one of the best, and has had years of practise in the Senate.

He explained Bush's better performance as being the result of having learned continually throughout the debates from Kerry, picking up more understanding of debate skills with each event.

Yeah. Right. He always was so quick, mentally, wasn't he?
