Fahrenheit 9/11 Shatters Home Video Record |
|
FYI, from a press release I received from the entertainment PR firm doing publicity for the DVD release...
FAHRENHEIT 9/11 SHATTERS HOME VIDEO RECORD
- Moore's Film Bows as #1 Documentary Debut of All-Time-
PORTLAND, Ore. - October 13, 2004 - Michael Moore's politically-charged documentary of the Bush administration, Fahrenheit 9/11, debuted last week on home video breaking his own record as the #1 documentary video rental debut of all-time, according to Rentrak's Home Video Essentials(tm).
Held previously by Moore's Bowling for Columbine, Fahrenheit 9/11 grabbed the top spot in the U.S. home video rental market as the most watched documentary debut of all-time with more than 2.6 million DVD and VHS viewers.
With a gross box office revenue of $115 million*, Moore's eagerly anticipated video of Fahrenheit 9/11 turned 1.36 million copies and earned more than $4.7 million on DVD alone in its first week. "The fact that Fahrenheit 9/11 ranked #3 overall on the DVD rental charts last week shows that the American public is doing their research and seeking information in this election year," said Brad Hackley, vice president of business development for Home Video Essentials at Rentrak.
Michael Moore now occupies the top two coveted spots in the first week top-earning video documentary category.

3. It is having an impact |
|
A friend of mine told me that his parents rented it and his dad was extremely depressed after watching it - and that he hated Bush after seeing it. He couldn't see it because they had returned it.
Another friend of mine got it from NetFlix and let him borrow it. He loved the movie and wants everyone to see it.

12. I went to my "local" video store to get this and |
|
There was a sign by the owner to the effect that even though he did not support the liberal propaganda, he was going to carry F/911 in his store but that the money from every rental would be going to the local Republican party to support *bush. Can you believe that?? I walked out and said I would buy it.... and I am in an upstate NY liberal area. I think he will lose a lot of customers due to this..

15. Bought F/911, Out Foxed, and The Hunting of a President. |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-15-04 12:20 PM by Fla Dem
Bought them all so I can share with my right leaning friends and to support the movie producers. Figure if they can make money on these "get the truth out videos" they'll do more of them. Next on my list...Bush's Brain.
