Why i've voted for Kerry, why are you? |
|
I have read a million reasons, and i thought i'd try to spell out my own reasons for voting Democratic in this presidential election.
They break down in to two sorts, why not-bush and why kerry.
Why not bush?
He's destroyed more value and presided over the destruction of more value than any president in history. A CEO is graded by their effect on the stock price, and this "ceo" has turned a surplus in to a record deficit. The stock market and all financial markets are down from when bush arrived in office. He has flushed the net worth of americans, hard earned net worth, down the toilet with total disregard. This destruction of public and private property is criminal, and alone is enough reason to see bush and his fools out the door.
He lies all the time, and i don't trust a word he says. This total lack of integrity by a public servant leaves me witn no choice but to seek out an honest replacement.
He has engaged america in dangerous wars, that have radically increased the potential of future attack on america and americans. For the benefit of decent security, it is time to ditch the war criminals.
Why Kerry?
He's got a long track record of integrity and a forthright intuition to serve the real interests of the american people.
He knows the world is interconnected, and that we, the people of the earth, are universally for human goodwill and decent civility. This strong sense of inclusiveness gives me great peace about Kerry.
The whole democratic party and fringe is behind him, that when he wins, he'll be able to achieve things that clinton could not achieve, and the potential for great works is really outstanding.
He understands that cannabis is a drug, not a crime, and that under his leadership, those millions of us who smoke cannabis can find that our taxes are not funding a religious war against ourselves.
He supports income equality for women and minorities, showing he understands fully the concerns of feminists.

What are your reasons?

I loathe Bush and all he stands for.
I'm far from crazy about Kerry but, as I've done so many times in the past, I'll hold my nose and vote Democratic.
If it wasn't for Bush, I'd probably be voting Green this time.

3. Yes, were there a true multiparty system |
|
I would surely be supporting Kucinich.
I've really warmed to kerry though, and really do think he's the best man for the job given realpolitik. Dennis K. is on board, and if he is backing kerry, then i trust his wise judgement as just another confirmation that voting dem this time round is the dharma.
With a true mulitparty system, i can't help but wonder how much of the major parties would remain. I think this mythical "center" would dissolve in to many parties of various interests.
