His latest blast is the most outlandish so far. He accused Dr. Mongiardo or a member of his campaign staff of "trying to abuse my wife" at Fancy Farm last summer. "My wife was black and blue," he said. Of course, the Mongiardo campaign denied any connection to any injury Mary Bunning may have sustained, calling the charge "sad and untrue."

And as his wild statements mount and he increasingly isolates himself, small things take on great significance. For example, Sen. Bunning broke the rules and read from a teleprompter during his so-called "debate" with Dr. Mongiardo. Was that simply because he thought he could get away with it, since he was ensconced in a remote location in Washington? Or did he need to read his opening and closing statements to avoid stumbling into another gaffe?

There is, of course, an easy way for Sen. Bunning to end what has become national speculation about his fitness. He could call press conferences throughout the state, stand before the public and say, "Here I am. Ask me questions. You'll see how fit I am."

9. I knew people at the event where his wife was alledgedly

assaulted. He said she was not assaulted. She was surrounded by security. Nobody could get close to her or her husband.

The only violence was by some of Bunning's staff. A man with a video cam was punched by a Bunning staffer. They do not like people filming Bunning.

2. The past 2 days the LCJ has run editorials about the nut,

that is Jim Bunning. Also Jim Bunning taped his part of the debate that will air tonight in KY, and Bunning cheated by using a teleprompter.

4. The KY news media is doing their job

so I think we have a chance. I think Miller might upset Northrup in that House race, too. Seems Ernie Fletcher ain't doing too good at being a Gov., either. The KY GOP seems to be falling apart at the seams!!

And apparently, a lot of Bunning's support has eroded recently in part due to reports of his erratic behavior. This would be a good race to send a sawbuck to if you have it to give.

I understand it was to be broadcast last night just before the presidential debate.

he broke down and cried at a press conference. He has been under pressure, and his campaign is falling apart.

I am trying to find some feelings for him, but he has not been for people like me.

14. No! A US Senator under pressure during a campaign!!!

I mean, I feel kind of sorry for the guy if he has some sort of dementia, but if he does, he's got no business sitting in the Senate. It sucks, but that's how it has to be.

If he doesn't, and is just stoooooopid, and refusing to admit it, then piss on him. If it's not time for him to go for medical reasons, then it's time for him to lose for political ones.

15. Seriously, Mongiardo needs $$

If you're not totally tapped out from everything else, Mongiardo is a good bet for a ten dollar donation. An infusion of cash right now can when this for Dr. Dan. Kentuckians are furious with Gov. Ernie Fletcher and the idea that he might appoint a successor to Bunning needs to be played up through advertising, especially in the western part of the stste.
